Transneft North Wins Best in Profession 2019 Competition

Transneft North employees have won the Best in the Profession сompetition conducted in Atyrau (the Republic of Kazakhstan) at the operating facilities of KazTransOil.

Vitaly Lobzhanidze, an electric and gas welder of the Ukhta Central Maintenance Division of the Ukhta Regional Oil Pipeline Directorate (RPD), and Maksim Chastukhin, an electrical equipment repair and maintenance fitter of the Gryazovets PS of the Volgograd PRPD, won the competition.

The second place in the competition was taken by Andrey Tulubensky, a line pipeliner of the Privodino CMD (central maintenance division) of the Vologda RPD, Transneft North. During the competition, the employees of Transneft North demonstrated their excellent professional skills.

The contest brought together a total of 44 employees of major professions in the oil transportation industry who represented the largest companies, members of the International Association of Oil Transporters (IAOT): Transneft (the Russian Federation), KazTransOil (the Republic of Kazakhstan), Ukrtransnafta (Ukraine), Gomeltransneft Druzhba (Belarus), Transpetrol (Slovakia), MOL (Hungary) and China National Petroleum Corporation (the People's Republic of China).

The participants demonstrated their professional knowledge and skills in 8 nominations: pumping station operator, commodity loading operator, instrumentation and automation fitter, processing equipment (process units) fitter, chemical analysis laboratory assistant, electric and gas welder, line pipeliner, electrical equipment repair and maintenance fitter.

The Best in the Profession competition has been held every three years from 2003. Its major aims include creating the conditions for developing high professional standards for the key professions in the oil transport industry, as well as studying, proliferating and adopting best practices, enhancing the professionalism of workers in leading professions and developing creative attitude towards labour.
