Transneft North Completes Scheduled Repairs of Oil Trunk Pipelines

Transneft North has completed scheduled repairs at the facilities and the line of the oil pumping stations of the Usa – Ukhta and the Ukhta – Yaroslavl oil trunk pipelines (OTP). The repairs were conducted as part of the technical upgrading, revamping and overhaul programme implemented at the Company.

During a scheduled shutdown of the Usa – Ukhta oil trunk pipeline, the Company’s employees cut out two defects and repaired a microprocessor-based automation system of the Usa and Zelenoborsk oil pumping stations (OPS). The repairs took 54 hours to finish.

A gate valve was replaced at the underwater crossing of the Ukhta – Yaroslavl oil trunk pipeline across the Nizhnyaya Lupya River, and a unit for connecting a PIG (pipeline clean-up and inspection gadget) trap to the main leg was mounted at the 312.35 km. Midlife repairs of a line gate valve were performed in the area of responsibility of the Vologda Regional Oil Pipeline Directorate of Transneft North. The repairs took 56 hours to finish.

Midlife repairs of a gate valve were performed at the 1,003 km of the Privodino – Yaroslavl process section of the Ukhta – Yaroslavl oil trunk pipeline. In addition, the connection of newly constructed PIG traps, as well as the connection of a pressure regulator assembly at the Nyuksenitsa OPS of the Vologda PRD (Regional Oil Pipeline Directorate) were completed. The connection of the mainline pump to the collector and the connection of a pressure regulator assembly at the Nyuksenitsa OPS of the Ukhta – Yaroslavl OTP were completed. The work was conducted within 52 hours.

The repairs were completed to the full extent. Oil transportation along Transneft North’s oil trunk pipelines was resumed as per schedule, and the oil pumping is going on as planned.
