Transneft North Sums Up Results of Year of Occupational Safety

Equipment of operating facilities and administrative and amenity complexes has been upgraded, modern protection equipment has been purchased for the Company’s employees. Comprehensive tests to make sure the personnel observe occupational health requirements were conducted, as well as a dedicated working conditions assessment at Transneft North.

As part of the occupational health activities, employees’ preventive medical examinations were carried out.

In July 2019, a mobile medical unit was purchased. The purpose is to increase the availability of qualified medical care for employees being in remote areas with poor access to the healthcare infrastructure, as well as prevent diseases and detect them as early as possible. In total, RUB 12.5 million were allocated for periodic medical examinations of Transneft North employees.

Personnel training and refresher courses were organised. 541 employees of the Company received training in the field of occupational health at the Regional Training Centre during the year.

In October, Transneft North opened a lecture room and the Occupational Health laboratory equipped with modern laboratory and demonstration equipment at the Industrial Safety and Environmental Health department of the Ukhta State Technical University after its overhaul.

Within the Year of Occupational Safety, the Company held the Occupational Safety Day and the Best Occupational Safety Business Unit contests, as well as photo and drawing contests for children.  Occupational health themed lessons were organised in four schools of the regions of Transneft North’s operation. As part of the meetings, specialists of occupational health division of the Occupational Safety and Operational Control Directorate told the students about the basic safety rules and behaviour under extreme conditions.
