Transneft North has summed up its operational results in 2019. In 2019, the most significant event was completion of the project to expand the throughput capacity of the Ukhta – Yaroslavl oil trunk pipeline.

As part of the investment project, three 10,000 m2 tanks, an oil heating station, a pump house for oil from the Yaregskoye field, two boiler houses, oil quality control units and an oil blending station were commissioned at the Ukhta-1 oil pumping station of the Ukhta RPD. At the Pryvodino oil pumping station in Arkhangelsk Region, another oil heating station with six heat transfer units and a boiler house was constructed.

DRA injection units were installed at the Urdoma, Privodino, Nyuksenitsa, Pogorelovo and Gryazovets oil pumping stations. The commissioning of the facilities allowed to increase the throughput capacity of the Ukhta – Yaroslavl oil pipeline to 23.4 MTPA. Moreover, the implementation of the project allowed to receive up to 3.5 million tonnes of crude oil from the Yaregskoye field in the Komi Republic into the pipeline system.

As part of Transneft East’s technical upgrading, revamping and overhaul programme, repairs (technical upgrading) of 2 tanks with a total volume of 40,000 m3 were carried out, and 49 km of pipeline sections were replaced. Mainline pump units, process pipelines and PIG traps were replaced at the Nyuksenitsa oil pumping station, and the Ukhta – Yaroslavl oil trunk pipeline was upgraded.

As part of the current repairs plan, 71 buildings and structures were repaired at the operating facilities of Transneft North. In-line inspection of 711.9 km was completed.

Treatment plants were reconstructed at the Ukhta-1 oil pumping station of the Ukhta RPD. Production waste and storm water biotreatment stations, an impounding reservoir with a capacity of 2,000 m3, 2 special fluids settling tanks with a capacity of 200 m3, a receiver tank for entrapped oil, wastewater pump stations for production and storm, settled, utility and treated wastewater, as well as water supply and sewage networks with a total length of about 3 km, were constructed.

A motorway to the Synya oil pumping station of the Usinsk RPD with a total length of 10 km and a bridge across the Kozla-Yu River were constructed. A chemical analytical laboratory of the Privodino OPS of the Vologda RPD was overhauled. The laboratory is designed to perform oil testing, as well as to conduct environmental analysis of the Vologda RPD’s facilities.

In 2019, Transneft North paid great attention to the implementation of measures in the field of occupational health: upgraded the equipment at operating facilities and administrative and amenity premises, purchased up-to-date protective equipment for employees, organised medical examinations, personnel training and refresher courses. Based on 2019 performance, Transneft North was recognised the best among Transneft subsidiaries in industrial safety and industrial control.

31 motor and special-purpose vehicles, including 4 units driven by compressed natural gas, were purchased to update the fleet.

Transneft North’s significant activities include work in the field of ecology and environmental protection. In 2019, rare fish species were released into the Sukhona and Mologa Rivers of Vologda Region on the initiative of the Company. The Company received commendation from the Interregional Directorate for the Komi Republic and Nenets Autonomous Area of the Federal Service for Supervision of Natural Resources for its active participation in the River Ribbon campaign held in the Komi Republic.

The implementation of the measures allows Transneft North to ensure uninterrupted and emergency-free operation of pipeline infrastructure facilities in the regions of the Company’s presence.
